Visit programme
Arrival at Tashkent airport. Welcome by your driver and transfer to the hotel. Time to relax until the morning. You leave with your luggage, as a domestic flight is scheduled for late afternoon.
Excursion to the old town of the capital of Uzbekistan. Discover Khast Imam Square, home to the Barakhan medersa, the Tilla Sheikh mosque and the mausoleum of Kafal Shashi. Visit the Holy Koran Museum, where you can admire the original Holy Koran of Caliph Usman, the only one of its kind in the world. Stroll through the Tchorsu market, a meeting place for the inhabitants of the old town. Lunch in a bazaar restaurant. The tour continues with a visit to Amir Timur square and boulevard and the splendid Tashkent metro stations.
In the evening, transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Urgench. On arrival, welcome by your driver and transfer to Khiva. Overnight at your hotel.
Khiva
Breakfast, followed by a full day's visit to this UNESCO World Heritage city. Explore Itchan Kala, the Kalta Minor minaret, the Mohamed Aminkhan medersa, the Kounya Ark palace and other emblematic monuments.
Lunch inside the fortress, then on to the Mohamed Rahimkhan Medersa, the Friday Mosque and its impressive forest of wooden columns, the mausoleum of Pahlavan Makhmud decorated with extraordinary mosaics, as well as the Tochhovli Palace and the Khan's Harem.
Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Khiva - Bukhara
Breakfast, then departure for Bukhara across the Kyzylkoum desert. On the way, stop at a café for lunch.
Arrival in Bukhara in the late afternoon. Check-in at the hotel and free time to wander through the narrow streets of the old town. Overnight in a charming hotel.
Breakfast, then departure for a day of sightseeing. Visit to the Samanid mausoleum, the mausoleum of the prophet Ayoub and the Ark citadel, residence of the emirs of Bukhara.
Exploration of the historic centre with the Poi-Kalon complex, the Mir-Arab medersa, the Great Mosque and other remarkable monuments.
Lunch in a chaikhana, followed by a visit to the Abdulazizkhan medersa, the Ulugbeg medersa and the Labi Khauz complex. Dinner with a local. Overnight in a charming hotel.
Breakfast, then a free day to explore the old town at your own pace. Lunch and meetings with craftsmen and locals. Overnight in a charming hotel.
Breakfast, then departure for visits outside the city. Discover the summer residence of the Bukhara emirs, the mausoleum of Bakhaouddin Nakhchbandi and the necropolis of Tchor Bakr.
Lunch in a local chaikhana, then return to Bukhara to attend a folk show with dancing, singing and a traditional fashion show. Overnight in a charming hotel.
Breakfast, then off to Nourata with a stop at the Guijdouvan pottery workshop. Lunch en route.
Arrive in Nourata and visit the ruins of Alexander the Great's fortress and the local mosques. Transfer to a yurt camp.
Walk along the shores of Lake Aydarkoul and optional camel ride. Dinner in the open air with a folk concert around the fire. Overnight in a yurt.
Breakfast, then drive to the mountain village of Asraf. Settle in with the locals, have lunch and walk around the village. Take part in preparing traditional dishes with the villagers.
Dinner and overnight stay with local people.
Breakfast, then drive to Samarkand. Lunch en route.
On arrival, check into the hotel and relax. Overnight at the charming hotel.
Breakfast, then a day devoted to discovering the monuments of Samarkand. Visit to the Gur Emir mausoleum, Reghistan Square and its sumptuous medersas, the Bibi Khanoum mosque and the Chakhi-Zinda necropolis.
Lunch on the way. In the afternoon, exploration of the Ulugbeg observatory and the Konighil silk paper-making workshop.

Breakfast, then departure for Shakhrisabz, birthplace of Tamerlane. Visit the ruins of the Ak-Saray palace, the Khazrati Imam mosque and the Dorus Saodat and Dorut Tyllawat complexes.
Lunch in a local restaurant, then return to Samarkand via the mountains. Meet dried fruit sellers on the way. Overnight at the hotel.
Samarkand - Tashkent
Breakfast, followed by a visit to the tomb of Saint Daniel, the Samarkand Archaeological Museum and the great Siyob bazaar.
Lunch during the visit, then transfer to the station to take the train to Tashkent. On arrival, welcome and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast, followed by an excursion to the mountains near Tashkent. Visit to Lake Tcharvak and lunch there.
Return to Tashkent and visit to the White Mosque. Overnight at the hotel.
Tashkent - Departure
Breakfast, followed by a visit to the Tashkent Museum of Applied Arts. Lunch in a local restaurant, then transfer to the airport for your return flight.
